As Worn By Mish Mac
Michelle Alan, one of our favourite “Insta Famous” Australian models, is currently pregnant with her second child. As someone who is known for her impeccable style it was important for Michelle to wear something that fits in with her personal aesthetic and doesn’t look too obviously maternity so that she can still get plenty of wear out of it post-birth. See her favourite picks of the season below: Harper Bell Sleeve Materntiy Dress “I was just going through my wardrobe and am so impressed with the number of maternity pieces I have that I’ll still be able to wear after pregnancy.” Harper Bell Sleeve Dress wash Michelle Alan’s first pick because it can be styled up but also looks great when worn casually with sneakers. This dress is made in a thick and stretchy rib fabrication and features an A-line silhouette and statement bell sleeves. The A-line silhouette helps to ensure the dress will fit until full-term without any of the pleats, tucks, or ruching you see on typical maternity styles, which also means you can wear it post-birth and people will be non-the wiser. Style this dress with black tights and boots or dress down like Michelle has above with fresh white sneakers. Mae Long Sleeve Feeding Blouse This top from Soon Maternity is so perfect for the bump and is totally something I’ll wear pregnant or not! This is the style you will wear from the very beginning of your pregnancy when you are trying to hide the bump right through the full term and even post-pregnancy. The Mae Feeding Blouse is a beautiful flowing top that flatters the bump and comes with a nursing singlet for easy breastfeeding access when the baby comes. This top has a generous A-line silhouette allowing plenty of room for your growing bump and is made in a soft rayon fabrication, giving you plenty of breathability and a soft fabric for your baby to rest their head against when they come! With its long ruffle sleeves and gathered panelling, this style looks fantastic dressed up with black trousers and heels but is also a great style for day to day styling. As Michelle has done, team is with blue jeans for a casual everyday look. Esme Distressed Maternity Denim “The jeans are specifically for pregnancy (sometimes you just can’t get away with wearing regular clothes) but are the most non-maternity looking maternity jeans I’ve worn. Love them!” The Esme Distressed Denim is a soft and comfortable style that has enough stretch to fit through the entire pregnancy while looking like your everyday non-maternity jeans. These jeans are ideal for mums-to-be who want to feel like their normal selves because they have a regular button front so you can wear a shirt tucked in without seeing the subtle elastic inserts at the side and a skinny crop leg so they will go with everything in your existing wardrobe. Michelle went for the distressed version to give her maternity wardrobe that fashionable edge that she is so well known for.
